Hey hey!  I'm back with another review, this time, for skincare products!  I have been using the Ethno Lab Soothing Lime Cleanser and the Exfoliating Glycolic Toner for about 3 or so weeks.  I wanted to use it long enough to give you a full review.  So, here we go...

Who and what is Ethno Lab?

Ethno Lab is a team of cosmetic professionals, researchers, and digital natives who focus on making skin care products for ethnic skin.

What are the claims of these two products?

Soothing Lime Cleanser

-Claims to remove dirt and impurities without drying the skin.

Exfoliating Glycolic Toner

-Claims to exfoliate, brighten and fade away dark spots, blemishes, and hyperpigmentation.  It also claims to smooth skin while enhancing the natural glow and unclogging pores.

What are the active ingredients?

Soothing Lime Cleanser

Edelweiss- improves and comforts irritated skin

Cucumber- used as an astringent and for its anti-inflammatory and hydrating properties

Lime peel oil- helps to brighten the skin complexion

Exfoliating Glycolic Toner

Glycolic Acid- removes the outer layer of dead skin cells, also treats fine lines, acne, oiliness, dullness, blackheads, and uneven texture

Sugarcane- fights acne, reduces blemishes, prevents aging, and hydrates

Papaya Enzymes- natural lightening agent helping to clear imperfections and discoloration

First Impressions?

I was first intrigued by the fact that this skincare line was for ethnic skin and that it was also made with natural ingredients.  When I received the products, I immediately loved the packaging.  I thought it was nice and simple and easy to read.  I'm one of those types of people who read labels so I was happy to be able to clearly read the claims and directions.  I was also pleased with the amount of product and the ease of use.

What I liked about the products

  • Made specifically for ethnic skin
  • Made with natural ingredients
  • Nice, simple packaging
  • Good amount of product

Soothing Lime Cleanser

  • Does not dry out my skin
  • Only need a small amount to cleanse face
  • Gets my face clean even after wearing makeup

Exfoliating Glycolic Toner

  • Helps to get whatever dirt the face wash missed
  • Does not overly dry out my skin
  • Has helped with dark spots and texture (small bumps on and around my nose)
  • Makes my face feel so smooth
  • Helps blemishes disappear faster
  • It's a chemical exfoliator as opposed to a physical exfoliator (which can irritate the skin)

What I didn't like

The only downfall I can think of is probably the smell.  The smell isn't bad.  The products just smell more "earthy" I guess you can say.  However, the smell isn't strong at all so it really doesn't bother me, but if you are really into nice smelling face products, these don't have that "pretty" scent.

Would I purchase these products?

I did not purchase these products this time around.  They were graciously sent to me.  However, after using them, I would definitely purchase them.  My skin has been loving them and they are a reasonable price.  Skincare products can be very expensive, but these products are very affordable.

Final thoughts?

I really like these products especially the fact that my face doesn't feel extra dry after using them.  My skin is normal to dry and will easily feel dried out by cleansers and toners but these make my face feel clean and soft without drying it out.  I'm also a super fan of the fact that Ethno Lab is focusing on skin of color and making products that suit our skin.

Where can these products be purchased?
