"Drink water and mind your business" seems to have been the motto for many this year. I've seen this statement in tweets, captions, and even pictures all over social media. I've also heard it come out of the mouths of many. I, myself, have even been living by this motto until I realized..."drinking water and minding my business" may have kept me from some unnecessary drama, however, it didn't keep me from the attacks of Satan.
It seemed as if in the prime of me "drinking water and minding my business", Satan seemed to show up in my life in more ways than one. In my distress, I did what many would do. I cried out to God, "Lord, why am I experiencing all these different trials? I mean, I've been 'drinking water and minding my business'"
What I realized was, what I was going through was less about me and more about God. Often times we think that the trials we face is because God is preparing us for something greater and yes, I believe that to be true. But, in this experience, I learned that sometimes what we go through is about God showing us who HE is.
If we never go through a storm, how will we ever know that God is peace in the middle of a storm? If we never need him to provide, how will we ever know him to be a provider? If we never get weak, how will we ever know him to be our strength? If we never get sick, how will we ever know him to be a healer? If we never feel down, how will we ever know him to be a comforter?
God wants to show you who HE is through your trials. He wants to show you that he is a healer, miracle worker, way maker, promise keeper, if only you would let him. So, keep "drinking water and minding your business" but stay prayed up against the attacks of Satan and let God show you who he is during the process.
Has God shown you who he is lately? Let me know in the comments.
Love, peace, and sole!
