Layering A Sleeveless Dress

Last year I bought this really cute and different dress in white and never wore it.  I'm usually not the type to have things hanging in my closet with tags on it for too long, but unfortunately this dress hung in my closet for the last year.  Recently, I finally got the opportunity to wear it and I decided to put a different spin on the dress.

Since the dress is sleeveless, I knew I would need something to cover my arms just in case I got a bit chilly.  However, I didn't want to wear a traditional cardigan, blazer, or jacket because I didn't want it to cover up how nice this dress was.

So, I decided to wear something under the dress that would have dramatic sleeves to help keep me warm (though I bought a mesh top and it did nothing to keep me warm haha) but also to add some extra flare to this already bomb.com dress.  My original idea was to find a bodysuit but I couldn't find anything that I liked and that I thought would work.

What I did find was a super super super dope top with the cutest over-the-top statement sleeves.  When I tried it on, I thought it would be a bit much but I sent a picture to my mom and sisters (as I often do) to get their take on what I was trying to accomplish.  They loved it.  So I went with it and I'm glad I did.  I was so pleased with how this look turned out!

If you have a sleeveless dress that you want to jazz up or give another way of keeping you warm instead of wearing a cardigan or the like, go for a bodysuit or a thin top that would be easy to fit under your dress.

Oh and let me not forget to mention my shoes!  The shoes I'm wearing are my wedding shoes!  I designed them myself on a site called Shoes of Prey.  Check out their site.  It's such a neat concept and more affordable than you may think.

When it comes to this look, would you slam it or jam it?  Let me know below!
