From Heels To Laces: Wearable Art

Growing up in New Orleans where art and music fill the air, a great appreciation for art is pretty much innate.  So when I was contacted by Cocomocha, I was thrilled to work with them and showcase their designs here on JIMS.

Let me tell you a little about Cocomocha...

Cocomocha is a local fashion line in Chicago that mixes art and fashion, i.e. wearable art.  Cocomocha brings together the brilliance of two amazing artists to not only design amazing wearable art but also artwork that helps to beautify the city of Chicago.  The designs and artwork of many local artists through Cocomocha are displayed on abandoned and dilapidated buildings all over the city.  I was actually a witness to some of the amazing paintings a couple of artists were working on when I was invited to the Cocomocha studio.  Let me just say those paintings were UH-MAZE-ING!

Today I am featuring their wearable art, the Milk Moss.  It is a t-shirt with a yarn waist and trim which truly makes this design so unique.  Each shirt is uniquely made with different artistic designs.  The yarn waist adds so much shape to the shirt making it flattering to any womanly figure.  I paired the long shirt with a ruffle skirt and clear heels.  I'll also be showcasing this look with laces next week.  So, stay tuned!

Let me know if you are slamming (nah, it's not cute) or jamming (girl, I love it!) this look in the comments below.  Also, show Cocomocha some love and let them know how you feel about their awesome designs.  Be sure to check out their site here.

Whether heels or sneakers, or anything in between, there's JOY in every SOLE!

Love, peace, and sole!
